Airside – Tranche 1c – 1200 diameter storm water run off drainage renewal works.

Work scope included removal of 3 number on line 1200 diameter degraded stormwater pipes and replacement with new. All works were on line as water flows could not be diverted elsewhere to enable offline working.

Lots of sheet piling and lifting works throughout this project along with a large interface with airport ciritical assets.

There were multiple varying temporary works ground shoring methods utilised throughout the project which was partially in and partially out of a live taxiway location. Methods had to be adopted to ensure that the taxiway was reopened at the end of the nightshift works in such a manor that jet blast risk was controlled.

PQC replacement commenced on completion of the pipe upgrade works.

Two shift patterns in operation throughout the pipeline replacement phase of the project. Works were split across a dayshift and nightshift covering both the dayshift and nightshift elements of the scope whilst enabling greater continuity across the site activities.
